NBA Bets (1/18): Can the Cavs Find Their Way?

Records:

Straight Up: 50-36

Spread: 39-45-2

Teaser: 2-4-1

Philadelphia 76ers @ Boston Celtics

Straight Up: Celtics (-175)

Spread: Celtics (-4.5)

As if Philly hasn’t been bitten by the injury bug enough, J.J. Redick is out at least two weeks after suffering an injury in Monday’s win against the Raptors. The 76ers have been hot as of late, winning five of their last six, but they historically have not fared well against Boston. The Celtics have won 13 of their last 14 meetings, which includes seven straight at TD Garden. If Kyrie Irving ends up playing tonight, consider 4.5 points a steal. Boston is 7-1 SU in its last 8 games.

Orlando Magic @ Cleveland Cavaliers

Straight Up: Cavaliers (-600)

Spread: Cavaliers (-10.0)

The Cavaliers have lost eight of their last 10 and nine of their last 12; talk about a disappointing stretch. In fact, Cleveland’s last win came at the hands of the Magic. However, we all know how LeBron James can turn things around with the flick of a switch. And what better team to do that against than Orlando, who has dropped 27 of its last 32 games. Cavs will get a much-needed win tonight on their home court. Cleveland is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 home games against Orlando.

Minnesota Timberwolves @ Houston Rockets

Straight Up: Timberwolves (+185)

Spread: Timberwolves (+5.5)

After fight night in Los Angeles, the Rockets look to turn things around tonight on their home floor. They’ll face the Timberwolves, who are coming off an uninspiring loss at the hands of the Orlando Magic. I’m expecting a quick turnaround for Minnesota, who have been on fire in the new year. However, it was just announced that Harden is on a minute restriction tonight. While I don’t think a limited-James Harden will have a huge impact, it’s worth noting. Minnesota is 5-1 ATS and SU in its last six games.

Indiana Pacers @ Portland Trailblazers

Straight Up: Trailblazers (-170)

Spread: Trailblazers (-4.5)

The Pacers ride a three game win streak into Portland tonight. However, I’m expecting Indiana to come back to Earth after shooting 53% from the field and three in its last win against Utah. Moreover, it’s going to be tough to curb the Blazers’ red hot offense. They have scored at least 110 points in eight out of their last nine games. Portland is 4-1 ATS in its last five games against Indiana at home.

*Tonight’s Teaser*

Timberwolves (+11, -110)

Cavaliers (-4.5, -117)

Pays 1.3 to 1
