NBA Bets (11/15): Trust the Process Meets Big Baller Brand

Records:

Straight Up: 22-14

Spread: 18-18

Teaser: 0-0-1

Sacramento Kings @ Atlanta Hawks

Straight Up: Hawks (-190)

Spread: Hawks (-4.5)

It’s never the most exciting matchup when the two teams playing combine for five wins on the year. For Atlanta, they search for their first home win against an equally abysmal Sacramento side. The Kings have historically struggled in Atlanta, evident by the fact their last win came in 2006. Furthermore, the Kings are 0-5 ATS in their last five games in Atlanta.

Utah Jazz @ New York Knicks

Straight Up: Knicks (-165)

Spread: Knicks (-4.0)

Without Rudy Gobert, the Jazz will travel to face a surging Knicks team, led by rising star Kristaps Porzingis. The Knicks have been surprisingly solid this year, especially on their home court. As for the Jazz, they are 1-5 SU in their last six games. Knicks are 21-3 ATS in their last 24 games playing Utah.

Washington Wizards @ Miami Heat

Straight Up: Wizards (+110)

Spread: Wizards (+1.5)

The league’s highest scoring offense (111.4 PPG), anchored by John Wall’s 20.3 PPG and 9.7 APG, travels to Miami. While the Heat lack the starting cast to compete with Washington’s, their strength is in their bench, an area that the Wizards have struggled with this year. However, I think the Wizard’s high powered offense poses too many problems for the Heat. It’s not everyday that you have the league’s best offense labeled as an underdog. Washington is 4-1 ATS in its last five games.

Cleveland Cavaliers @ Charlotte Hornets

Straight Up: Hornets (+110)

Spread: Hornets (+1.0)

Had the Knicks not blown a 20+ point lead on Monday, my guess is the spread for this game would have been much different. Albeit an impressive comeback, Cleveland was riddled with problems during that game. The Hornets, who will be with Nic Batum tonight, draw a Cavs team that is on the last game of its four game road trip. Clevelands struggles continue tonight as an energetic Hornets team bests them.

Indiana Pacers @ Memphis Grizzlies

Straight Up: Grizzlies (-155)

Spread: Grizzlies (-3.5)

While their records may say differently, Memphis is the far better team in this matchup. While both teams have struggled as of late, the Pacers have been more pronounced. They’ve lost five of their last six and their offense, which performed as one of the league’s best to start the year, has been ice cold. Grizzlies are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games against the Pacers.

Chicago Bulls @ OKC Thunder

Straight Up: Thunder (-750)

Spread: Bulls (+12.0)

Obviously the Thunder are the far superior team here, but I can’t help but believe the Bulls will cover the spread. The Thunder have been very inconsistent this year, evident by their 6-7 record, and have underperformed against inferior teams. The Bulls lost by 39 the last time these two teams met, so plays to phenomenon that after a team gets blown out, they cover the spread next time around. Also, the Thunder may be without Carmelo Anthony, who sat out Sunday with back problems.

Toronto Raptors @ New Orleans Pelicans

Straight Up: Pelicans (-145)

Spread: Pelicans (-3.0)

The Pelicans come into tonight’s matchup having won five of their last six games and with plans to increase Rajon Rondo’s minutes. The Raptors are coming off a very impressive win against the Rockets, but I’m going with the home team here. Raptors are 1-4 ATS in its last five games, while the Pelicans are 5-1 ATS in its last six games.

San Antonio Spurs @ Minnesota Timberwolves

Straight Up: Spurs (+185)

Spread: Spurs (+5.5)

The Spurs are back on the right track, having won five of its past six going into tonight’s game. The T-wolves have showed promise this year, but I’m going with the more reliable Spurs, who have historically dominated this matchup. Spurs are 13-0 SU in its last 13 games against the T-wolves and 5-0 ATS in its last five games in Minnesota.

Detroit Pistons @ Milwaukee Bucks

Straight Up: Bucks (-165)

Spread: Pistons (+4.0)

This is probably the most intriguing matchup of the night. The Pistons have been red hot this year, while the Bucks have struggled to find ways to get production in ways other than through Giannis. With Eric Bledsoe now a part of the mix, I like the Bucks chances to get back on track tonight at home against one of the better teams in the conference. Detroit is 9-3-1 ATS in its last 13 games.

Orlando Magic @ Portland Trailblazers

Straight Up: Trailblazers (-185)

Spread: Trailblazers (-5.0)

The Blazers are putting themselves back on the map and proving they should not be slept on in the Western Conference. Tonight, they face a Magic team that surprisingly finds themselves at 8-6. Both team boast solid back courts, but the advantage has to go to Portland. Give me the more talented, home team in this game.

Philadelphia 76ers @ LA Lakers

Straight Up: 76ers (-150)

Spread: Lakers (+3.0)

Two of the league’s youngest teams face off tonight in Tinseltown. The matchup also features two of the league’s most talked about players, Joel Embiid and Lonzo Ball. I’m going with the 76ers, who have matured a bit quicker than the Lakers thus far. However, this game will be close. There’s something about these Lakers and covering the spread in prime time matchups.

*Tonight’s Teaser*

Knicks +4.0

Spurs +13.0

Wizards +9.5
