*Record 4-3*
And that’s why they call it gambling, folks. One day I’m at the top of the world, the next I’ve hit rock bottom. However, a wise Rocky Balboa once said,”It’s not how hard you can hit, its how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward.” Rocky was clearly talking about continuing to bet the spread, right?
Tonight we have just one matchup, but its a big one. The Spurs are on the road facing a possible elimination game in Oklahoma City. Let’s get right into it.
San Antonio Spurs @ Oklahoma City Thunder
Things aren’t looking great for the Spurs. Tim Duncan, who has been the focal point of this team for a ton of years, is starting to look his age. He’s become out-of-sync offensively and a liability on defense. LaMarcus Aldridge, who dominated the series in the first two games (averaging 39.5 points on 75% shooting), has dropped to averaging 21.3 points per game on 36.7% shooting. Not to mention, Greg Popovich is 2-10 in possible elimination games on the road. I’m conflicted here. On one hand everything points to betting the Thunder, but on the other, how can I bet against the most dominat franchise of the past decade? I can’t, and thats why I’m taking the Spurs tonight. This series has lived up to hype, which is why I believe it deserves to go 7 games. I’m placing my trust in Pop to find a way to get Leonard and Aldridge back on track. San Antonio is 4-1 SU in its last 5 road games and 14-3 SU in its last 17 games follow a loss. I’ll be taking the Spurs on the money line tonight as I believe they’ll find a way to force a Game 7.
Prediction: San Antonio Spurs (-120)
