Two second round matchups out West begin tonight and I smell a couple upsets. *Note- Home Team is in italics.
St. Louis over Dallas
Not only do I like the Blues to win Game 1, I like them to take this series with relative ease. While St. Louis ranks in the top ten in goals against average, the Stars rank a mediocre 20th. This inability to keep pucks out of the net might not have heart them against Minnesota, but it will against a better Blues team.
Nashville over San Jose
I was very impressed by what San Jose did in round one. But let’s not forget how evenly matched each playoff game is in the NHL. Everyone seems to think the Predators don’t stand a chance in San Jose, but considering they have the advantage in net, I’ll pick the upset.
